Updated: January 28, 2020

On January 24, 2020, the registrations of RE/MAX North Country Realty Inc. and Ray Jarvis, broker of record, were revoked.

On January 27, 2020, RECO issued a Freeze Order freezing the bank accounts of RE/MAX North Country Realty Inc.

The revocations and Freeze Order follow the proposal to revoke, and order to immediately suspend, the registrations, which was issued on December 31, 2019. The registrants did not appeal the proposals to revoke. The proposals were a result of concerns related to shortages in the brokerage’s real estate trust account, the management of the brokerage and the financial position of both Ray Jarvis and the brokerage.

Freeze Orders are issued by RECO to protect consumer deposits.

On December 31, 2019, under the authority of the Real Estate Business Brokers Act, 2002 (REBBA) and in order to protect the public interest, the Registrar of the Real Estate Council of Ontario (RECO) issued an order to immediately suspend the registrations of:

The order to suspend the registrations follows a Notice of Proposal to revoke the registrations of RE/MAX North Country Realty Inc.

All trading activities at RE/MAX North Country Realty Inc. and its registered branches must cease immediately.
